Wink Bingo Bought by 888 Casino

Online gaming operator 888 has now bought Wink Bingo for a price of $77 million. The acquisition terms involve payment of £ 11 million with the rest coming from revenues until March 2011. Wink Bingo appears to be a good catch because it has 60,000 players and is among the top internet bingo sites these days.

Gigi Levy, 888 chief executive says that the purchase is a lucrative one and thinks that there is a lot of room for growth in online bingo and they’re expecting 20-25% growth next year.

The future for Wink Bingo and the online bingo market is hinged on expanding its customer base. According to Mr. Levy, the game was traditionally a game for males but Wink successfully attracted a great number of women and now, it has become a social style of gaming.

Online gaming was banned in the US and 888 shifted its focus to the UK market. As for now, regulations and legislations are shaping the future of 888 and its competitors. Because of this, 888 declared its intention to seek a license to operate in France in 2010 as soon as legislation is done for betting on sports events and poker
