This is a short list of simple to remember, and easy to follow roulette tips.

The fact is, there are no roulette tips that will make you a bundle, but there are some that may keep you from losing one.

1)  Don’t Believe the Hype – The single most important rule.  The internet is littered with roulette systems offered for sale by shady characters with dubious proof and compelling testimonials.  There is no fool-proof system that can guarantee success without changing the laws of mathematics.  Betting on roulette is much like betting on the flip of a coin – You win some, you lose some.  The only things you have control over (and thus the only things you can systemise)  are the size and frequency of your bets. The key to successful gambling in roulette is maximising the wins and minimizing the losses.

2)  Look hard for a single zero roulette wheel (European Roulette Wheel). This will cut the house edge much more than any other option in the game of roulette.

3)  No matter how appealing a new and sexy bet might feel, never bet the five number bet, it has the worst odds on the table.

4)  Search for casinos that offer the surrender rule. This will cut the house edge almost as much as a single zero roulette wheel will, but only on even-money outside bets.

5)  Be Prepared – If you are new to roulette, familiarise yourself with the rules (read our learn to play roulette guide) and practice with ‘play money’ before you part with any cash.

6)  Only bet what you can afford to lose – Roulette is an exciting game and a lot of fun, but gambling with your rent money to try and recover your losses will soon put you off.
